Echo's Atlas Radio privacy

Summary

Echo's Atlas Radio is designed to work offline. The current iPhone app does not require an account, does not include an analytics or advertising SDK, and does not send precise location to Raven Key Labs. Location matching, radio selection, story signals, and playback history are processed on the device.

The fictional advertisements heard in Island Afterglow are creative program material. They are not behavioral advertising and do not track listeners.

What Echo's Atlas Radio does and does not collect

Echo's Atlas Radio does not sell personal data and does not share precise location, playback history, imported file names, or story-signal history with Raven Key Labs or third parties. iOS and the App Store may process platform diagnostics under Apple's settings and policies; Echo's Atlas Radio does not add its own diagnostic upload service.

Location

If you enable GPS stories, iOS supplies device location to Echo's Atlas Radio so it can compare your position with story coordinates stored in the app. The app uses the result to show distance and readiness, surface nearby stories, and optionally schedule a local notification.

Foreground location is requested only after an in-app explanation and your action. A separate background-alert option may request Notifications and Always location. That option is off by default.

Echo's Atlas Radio does not upload or sell precise location. It does not retain a route history or list of raw coordinates. It keeps a small local story-signal record—story identifiers, readiness state, and times—to avoid repeating the same signal during a session.

Information stored on the iPhone

Echo's Atlas Radio may store the following in its private iOS container:

• selected route and prepared-route identifiers;
• story-signal history, seen discovery identifiers, and narration-variant history;
• the background-alert preference;
• playback position, program history, and radio state;
• compatible audio files you explicitly import;
• bounded, regenerable audio-analysis cache files.

Bundled station and narration audio plays from the app bundle. Regenerable cache data is capped at 64 files and approximately 48 MiB and is excluded from backup. User-imported audio is not treated as cache.

Notifications

If you opt in, Echo's Atlas Radio may schedule local story notifications on the iPhone. Notification permission and delivery are controlled by iOS. The current app does not use a remote-push provider or remote-notification token.

Network behavior and external links

The core app does not stream station audio or send app data to a Raven Key Labs server. It monitors network availability only to explain whether an optional external source link can open.

Story source links open outside Echo's Atlas Radio in the system browser. The browser and destination site have their own privacy practices. Echo's Atlas Radio does not control or receive browsing data created after you leave the app.

Echo's Atlas Radio website station

The public website is separate from the offline iPhone app. To monitor streaming cost and service health, the website records daily aggregate totals for audio starts, completed plays, listening seconds, audio requests, and bytes served. These counters do not include song titles, filenames, account identifiers, device identifiers, precise location, or a listener profile.

The web server may use a visitor’s network address transiently in memory to rate-limit automated requests and cross-site hotlinking. Raven Key Labs does not write that address to the Atlas usage table. The hosting provider may independently process ordinary request and security logs under its own policies. Aggregate daily totals are retained for up to 13 months.

Children

Echo's Atlas Radio is not directed to children and is not intended for the Made for Kids category. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App Store age rating is determined separately from Apple's content questionnaire.

Security, retention, and deletion

Local app data is protected by the iOS application sandbox and remains until it is replaced through normal use, purged as regenerable cache, or removed with the app. Raven Key Labs cannot retrieve on-device app data because the current app has no account or sync service.

Deleting Echo's Atlas Radio through iOS removes its private app container, including app preferences, histories, caches, and imported copies. Deleting the app does not delete the original files from which you imported audio. iOS may purge cache files when storage is constrained.

Your choices

• Use the radio without enabling GPS stories.
• Pause GPS signals or decline Location permission.
• Keep background alerts off or revoke Always location.
• Revoke Notifications in iOS Settings.
• Remove Echo's Atlas Radio to delete its private on-device container.
